This F18E its configured to an aerial refueling tanker version. This particulary aircraft belongs to  Strike Fighter Squadron 105 (VFA-105) also known as the "Gunslingers" that is a United States Navy strike fighter squadron based at Naval Air Station Oceana, Virginia.

Amazing surprise here at Lajes. A couple of Hawkeyes and about 15 F18 landed at lajes on the previous night due to (maybe)  heavy fog close to their carrier so they declared emergency because they were very low on fuel. This A/C belongs to Carrier Airborne Early Warning Squadron 123 (VAW-123) is based at Naval Air Station Norfolk. The "Screwtops" are an operational fleet squadron flying the E-2C Hawkeye. They are attached to Carrier Air Wing Three (CVW-3) while deployed aboard USS Dwight D. Eisenhower.

Lovely surprise here at Lajes. This beautiful Seahawk belongs to HSL-48 "Vipers" that is based in Florida. HSL-48 is attached to Commander, Helicopter Maritime Strike Wing Atlantic and deploys detachments aboard U.S Atlantic Fleet Navy vessels.
